GUIDANCE FOR ACHIEVEMENT OF CONTEXTUALISED GRADES:
In order to achieve ‘Identify and apply strategies to find appropriate solutions’ (M1) The accompanying roughs/idea generation work must demonstrate that multiple solutions were investigated.
In order to achieve ‘select/design and apply appropriate methods/techniques’ (M2) The completed jackets must be competently constructed and attest to a sound understanding of the principles of design.
In order to achieve ‘the appropriate structure and approach has been used’ (M3) Collect relevant examples from a wide range of sources over an extended period of time – evidence of research to be posted to accompanying blog.
In order to achieve ‘Use critical reflection to evaluate own work and justify valid conclusions’ (D1) Demonstrate that a self-criticism of approach has taken place via posts on the accompanying blog. This should include a critical evaluation of the finished series.
In order to achieve ‘Take responsibility for managing and organising activities’ (D2) A clear progression from concept to finished artwork must be observable on the accompanying blog – establishing that the assignment has been well planned and managed.
In order to achieve ‘Demonstrate convergent/lateral/creative thinking’ (D3) The designs and accompanying roughs/idea generation work must demonstrate a highly artistic and innovative approach to image making, and an advanced understanding of the techniques required.
